Any appearance of this name in AVIS BUDGET records, mailings, driver licenses, vehicle registrations, or electronic data constitutes an unauthorized commercial use of protected intellectual property. Under 17 U.S.C. § 102, original creations fixed in tangible form are automatically protected by copyright. The stylized all- uppercase rendering "JAMIE CRANE" has been formally claimed and recorded as copyrighted property. Additionally, the use of this stylization in commerce without license violates 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a), which prohibits the use of false designations or misleading representations in connection with goods or services. Your use of this protected name format, without license or authorization, constitutes a commercial infringement. - $1,500.00 per use Under 18 U.S.C. § 1028, it is a federal offense to knowingly produce, transfer, or use, without lawful authority, a means of identification of another person with intent to commit or facilitate any unlawful activity. If any data, identification, or record is produced or maintained using this altered format, the elements of identity misuse are satisfied under federal statute. -$250,000.00 per use Per 18 U.S.C. § 1341, it is unlawful to use the U.S. Mail or a private interstate carrier to further a scheme involving material misrepresentation. Mailing documents or notices addressed to "LEONARD CRANE" using state letterhead or licensing documents, when no such person exists in lawful name format, constitutes a material misrepresentation sent via postal channels. This offense does not require criminal intent to be present —it is actionable once the improper use and transmission are shown. -$5,000.00 per use Under 18 U.S.C. § 242, any official who, under color of law, subjects an individual to a deprivation of rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution or federal law is in violation of federal criminal law. Requiring Leonard Crane to respond to, act under, or be processed as "JAMIE CRANE" constitutes a deprivation of procedural rights and due process.
